What to Expect

We will work together to choose an approach or intervention that works best to help facilitate meaningful change. Some things you can expect when we work together:

  • I work in collaborative partnership with you because you are the expert of your life.

  • Counselling is a process and not a quick fix. We often require time to process and address our concerns and one session alone will not resolve an issue.

  • I work with survivors of sexual trauma and abuse. You do not have to prove that something happened because I believe you. You do not have to tell me details of your abuse, you are in control of how much or how little you want to disclose.

  • I work from a strength-based approach that encourages you to use your preexisting strengths and resilience to work through your concerns.

  • I use a variety of interventions and approaches that are customized to meet your needs. Some of the approaches are somatic focused interventions, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), Emotional Freedom Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Mindfulness, person-centered, radical exposure tapping, and grief recovery.

  • I help identify stuck points that may get in your way to achieving your goals.

  • We develop practical strategies that you can use in your everyday life so you can resolve your concerns when they arise.
